June 6, 2009- Shane Cornish, Brandon Durnford, Ashley Courtney, and Tina Marsden (clockwise from upper left) find a PSAT tag in Francois, Newfoundland

PTT ID #79160 was only on a bluefin tuna for nine days, having prematurely released and reported only a few miles from where it was tagged, but was found almost 9 months later! Here is the correspondence about the tag:

Hello,

My friends (Ashley Courtney, Brandon Durnford and Shane Cornish) and  I (Tina Marsden) found a black device that we believe belongs to you  as it has your email address, and phone number located on it. It  said to return if found so we are messaging you about this. It was  found in a bay down around Francois, Newfoundland, Canada on June 6th  2009. I will attach an image of this device so you know what I am  referring to. And we hope it helps you! We were also wondering what  it was and if you could let us know. If you want this device  returned to you please message with an address so we can send it  back :)

Its ID # is: 79160
Its Serial # is: 12709

Thanks to all of you for returning it. It is currently at the manufacturer's and is being analyzed for any additional information we can glean from it. Keep an eye out for more of our tags! See pictures below of the teens finding the tag and the town of Francois, Newfoundland, where the tag was found.
